Oak Brook, IL is a suburb of Chicago located about 19 miles west of the Chicago “loop”.  As of the 2010 census Oak Brook was home to about 7,900 residents.

Oak Brook was first known as Fullersburg, named after an early settler Ben Fuller.  In 1958 Oak Brook was incorporated  due in large part to the efforts of Paul Butler and opened a dairy farm shortly thereafter.

Today Oak Brook has 11 schools, and hosts the world headquarters of McDonald’s Corporation, Ace Hardware, Blistex, and Dominick’s.  Noteable people from the village include: Chris Chelios, Stan Mikita, Stanley Cup-winning center with the Chicago Blackhawks; Dick Portillo, founder the Portillo Restaurant Group; Frank Thomas, first baseman with several Major League Baseball teams; Ty Warner, founder of popular toy company, Ty; Doug Wilson, defenseman with the San Jose Sharks.
