Melrose Park, IL is a village in the state of Illinois located about 300 miles northwest of the the state capitol Springfield, IL. As of the 2010 census 25,400 people called Melrose Park home.

In 1882 residents of a unincorporated portion of Proviso Township voted to establish their own municipality and called it “Melrose”.  In 1893 the “Park” was added.

Melrose Park is home to Navistar International who has a factory and an engine group office. Melrose Park Immediate Care is a medical and dental clinic branch within the village.

The suburb was the home of Kiddieland Amusement Park from 1929 until 2010, and the current home of Maywood Park Racetrack, the Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, and Stern Pinball, Inc., which is now the world’s last manufacturer of coin-operated pinball machines.
